As a fan of MTSU sports, we think of a blanket as something to cushion our seat at a ball game, to cover our shoulders and block the cool breeze, or simply to show our Raider pride as a wall hanging or sofa throw in our home.

Blackman athletes recently competed in indoor state. Coach Jonathon Sutton says senior Camren Warner was 8th in the two mile and 12th in the mile. Sophomore Jaclyn Wright was 6th and medaled in the high jump.

The 2017 Division II Basketball Championships will be held at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University.

The Riverdale girls claimed a hard-fought 57-55 win over Stewarts Creek in the District 7-AAA Girls Championship game.

The MTCS boys, the number one seed in the District 9A, made a perfect run in the tournament, taking a 73-67 championship game win over Huntland. Nate Howell had 32 points in the win for the 23-4 Cougars.

TICKETS  – General admission tickets are $10.00 Wednesday through Friday. On Saturday general admission tickets are $12.00.

The Rutherford County Convention & Visitors Bureau is happy to host the TSSAA Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball State Championships, along with Middle Tennessee State University.
