  3. Voted to approve the state office to begin discussions and work with TACA and the baseball and softball coaches to develop a potential plan for double-elimination tournaments in Division I and the regional and sectional levels of postseason.

Among the items taken up by the TSSAA in their Board of Control meeting was an extension of their girls soccer championships, potential postseason baseball and softball format changes and adding a 40-second play clock in football.

It's a three-peat for the Riverdale Lady Warriors:

Jon Dinkins with the call on State Farm Prep Sports as Riverdale claimed a 77-50 win over Houston for the Class AAA championship.

The Riverdale Lady Warriors will battle Houston Saturday for their third straight Class AAA State Championship after defeating Bearden 77-59 in the semifinals at MTSU's Murphy Center.

Senior Amanda Whittington, a MTSU signee, led the team with 20-points, five rebounds and three steals.

Riverdale jumped out to a 28-8 lead in the first quarter and didn't look back enroute to a 77-50 win over Ravenwood in the first round of the TSSAA Class AAA Blue Cross Basketball State Championships:

The Riverdale girls begin defense of their back-to-back state titles with Ravenwood at the TSSAA Blue Cross Basketball Championships this (Wednesday) morning at 10am. Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins will have the pregame beginning at 9:45am on State Farm Prep Sports.

While Blackman has waited for a whole year for a chance to get back to the state tournament, Riverdale has waited for over three decades. But both punched their ticket to the Blue Cross Boys Basketball Championships:
