The TSSAA Board of Control will meet on Monday (August 13th) to consider, among other business, a request for membership from Rockvale High School.

The meeting will be at their headquarters in Hermitage.

According to the meeting agenda, with anticipated enrollment of 15-hundred students beginning in the 2018-19 school year, Rockvale would be in the highest classification.

In fact, if approved, the Rockets will be placed in Division I, Class 5A, Region 5 in football. Rutherford County currently doesn't have a large school competing in Class 5A.

Rockvale would be in Class AAA, Region 4, District 7 in basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, golf, tennis, and bowling. That would put them in the same district as the large Rutherford County high schools.

The Rockets would be in Region 4, Large in cross country, Section 2 Large in track and field, and Class AAA, Region 5 in Wrestling.

Additionally, the TSSAA will take up a date change for Volleyball State Tournament, which is held in Murfreesboro. They've been notified by MTSU that they can't host the state tournament October 17-19 since the Blue Raiders have homecoming that week in football. They'll consider changing dates to October 16-18.
