Riverdale football coach Ron Aydelott has resigned. His resignation came Tuesday as principal Tom Nolan tweeted "Thanks Coach A for 10 great years!"

Just minutes after the announcement of his resignation at Riverdale, Williamson County Sports tweeted Aydelott will become the first football coach at Mill Creek Middle School, which will open up in the fall.

The resignation also comes a day after assistant coach Jason Dobbs accepted the head coaching position at Moore County High School.

Aydelott, who came from Hillsboro High School to Riverdale 10-years ago, took the Warriors to the playoffs eight of those seasons and averaged nine wins a year.
