1. Roll Call
2. Approved Minutes of Last Meeting
3. Voted to give the state office permission to conduct the Regional and State Volleyball Tournament draw.
4. Approved the Financial Report of the 2016 Basketball Tournament Series
5. Approved the Financial Report of the 2016 Wrestling Tournament Series
6. Approved the Report of the 2016 Athletic Directors Conference
7. Approved the Report of the 2016 Cheer Coaches Conference
8. Approved the Sportsmanship Report of the 2015-16 School Year
This completes the 25th year of the sportsmanship program and we continue to approach this area from many different aspects each year. A full report is always given to the Board of Control by the staff in regard to the number of coaches ejected, disciplinary action, unsportsmanlike incidents investigated, etc. The 21st year of the A. F. Bridges Program was also reviewed.
The Board voted to continue to provide $1,000 scholarships to student-athletes at the 27 schools that are annually selected as A.F. Bridges Award winners.

13. Heard update regarding partnership with PlayOn Sports and the NFHS Network
14. Heard an Update from the TSSAA Sports Medicine Advisory.
15. Voted that (a) TSSAA continue to print the TSSAA Directory and TACA pay expenses and shipping. (b) TACA would be allowed to print one card that will be good at our championship events all year with picture ID required and one person allowed free admittance. (c) TACA will have a representative at the gates to help with disrespectful coaches. (d) All passes must be sent to the Athletic Director of the School. No passes should be sent to an individual’s home address.
16. Heard Update regarding the DII Committee Meeting
17. Approved Rossville Christian Academy’s request not to participate in the 2016 Football Playoffs and continue to participate in the basketball post season tournament.
18. Approved Scotts Hill High School’s request for soccer field dimension requirement of 110 x 65 yards to host region tournament games, effective in Fall of 2018 to allow schools time to make adjustments to their fields if possible. If there’s not a facility within 15 miles then the host school can request an exception from the state office.

20. Approved request by Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter School for TSSAA Membership for the 2016-2017 School Year.
The school is chartered and accredited via joint authorization by the TDOE and Shelby County Schools. The school’s estimated enrollment for 2016-2017 is 114 students in grade 9, 111 students in grade 10, 77 students in grade 11, and 65 students in grade 12. They plan to participate in football, girls’ volleyball, girls’ softball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, baseball, and boys’ and girls’ track and field. However, the school will not be eligible for the football playoffs until the 2017-2018 school year. Freedom Preparatory Academy will be placed in DI, A, District 16 in volleyball, softball, basketball, and baseball and in DI, A-AA, West Section for track. There is no need to place them in a Football Region until the next classification cycle.

23. Approved the request by Jackson Central Merry Early College High School for TSSAA Membership.
Jackson Central Merry Early College High School is opening in 2016-2017 as a stand-alone school with its own state ID number. The school plans to have a freshman and sophomore class with an estimated enrollment of 50-100 students. Plans are to add a grade each year. Jackson Central Merry Early College High School will seek approval to co-op with Madison Academic Magnet High School in all sports except football. They request that they be allowed to co-op in football with North Side High School since Madison Academic and South Side High School have requested to co-op in football. In the past, Madison Academic had a cooperative agreement with JCM which is closing at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.
24. Denied Athens City Middle School’s request for waiver of NFHS Jewelry Rule in Softball.
25. Heard presentation by the American Cancer Society – Coaches vs. Cancer Program
26. Approved request by River’s Edge Christian Academy for TSSAA Membership
River’s Edge Christian Academy is a Category 3 accredited school in Knoxville requesting to join the Association at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. At the current time, the school has 70 students enrolled in grades 9-12. They plan to form a cooperative agreement in all sanctioned sports with Concord Christian School.
