While Blackman has waited for a whole year for a chance to get back to the state tournament, Riverdale has waited for over three decades. But both punched their ticket to the Blue Cross Boys Basketball Championships:

Bryan Barrett with the call from Chattanooga, where the Warriors picked up a 50-45 win over East Hamilton. Riverdale's last state tournament appearance was 1986, when the boys tournament was held at Vanderbilt.

Elijah Cobb scored 17 to lead Riverdale. Brayden Siren added 13 in the win. The Warriors are now 26-7 going into state's elite eight and the tournament next week.

It was a year ago, at East Hamilton, where Blackman's season ended with a disappointing 72-68 loss. A year later, they're headed back to the state tournament. The Blaze downed Stone Memorial at home 67-46. Jordan Burchfield was especially hot from three-point range:

Jon Dinkins had the call of the Blackman game on State Farm Prep Sports. Burchfield had 17-points, including three 3-pointers. Brandon Thomas led the Blaze with 22 while Trent Gibson added 19.

The draw for the boys state tournament will be held Tuesday night at MTSU's Murphy Center, along with the announcement of this year's Mr. and Miss Basketball finalists. Boys state will be next week, March 13-17.

Next up on State Farm Prep Sports will be Riverdale girls versus Ravenwood at 10am Wednesday morning. Our pregame coverage begins at 9:45am here on NewsRadio WGNS.
